Brazosport Relay Triathlon

The Brazosport Relay Triathlon for 2010 will be held on Saturday September 11, 2010 at MacLean Park in Lake Jackson, Texas.  Hope to see you there.

COURSE:  ~1K swim  –  two 5K runs –   ~15 mile cycle
Swimmers start at Lake Jackson Recreation Center Pool. Twenty-four swimmers (three swimmers entering the pool at 10-second intervals in each of  8 lanes) will be assigned to each of the swim heats. As each swimmer finishes, he/she will tag the first of two runners who will each run one 5K, winding through MacLean Park. The second runner will pass a finish point and the staged cyclist will be released to ride the final leg consisting of a 15 mile course that loops throughout the Brazosport area and finishes at MacLean Park.

    In order to streamline the event and improve the competition in 2010 we will be making a few changes this year.  This year we will be seeding the swimmers heats from slow to fast.  So the first heat will contain the slower swimmers and then progressively go to the fastest heats.  There will be three swimmers per lane in all heats.  The anticipation is that there will be a total of 4 heats.  If there is a fifth heat, we will try to integrate the 5th heat into the 4th heat as lanes open up and allow.  Also, the final seeding of the swimmers will not occur until Thursday morning to allow for the best possible arrangement of swimmers.  We think this will also create more competition for the runners and cyclist since they will now see more competitors while on the course.  Looking forward to a great event .....

Electronic registration is now available http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1862663   Electronic registration is the preferred method of registering.  Electronic registration closes Wednesday evening at 8:00pm Sept. 8th.  Entries will be accepted at the Lake Jackson Recreation Center up to 8:00pm Friday Sept. 10th.  No race day registration.
